IRVA Research

RESEARCH
IRVA is in the process of sponsoring its first-ever remote viewing research project. In November a group of six experienced remote viewers will gather and, assisted by four additional research personnel, will do four sets of double-blind remote viewing targets while being monitored by an operating random event generator Details are available on the IRVA website

From Guerrilla Funding by Paul H. Smith, IRVA President:
Opinion polls regularly show that a large majority of the populace continues to recognize the reality of ESP and other of what we have come to call 'paranormal' phenomena. The smaller minority who don't believe in these things include many in the intellectual elite - the scientists and skeptics who make up today's Old Guard. They are the ones who hold the purse strings. As long as we must rely on them to open up those purses before we can do more real research into non-local consciousness, that research will never be done!

IRVA has activated the Gabrielle Pettingell Memorial Research Fund. You can make your tax-deductible contribution by mail or through our secure online shopping cart. We encourage you to be generous, but welcome any amount from $10 to $10,000 or more. You can be sure that your contributions will be used only for worthy research projects (IRVA retains 5% of contributed funds to offset processing and banking expenses).

Pennsylvania Remote Viewing Event

Author Dale E. Graff will hold two programs about extrasensory
perception and psychic phenomeona on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8, at
Unity Church of Reading, 4443 10th Ave., Temple.

The Friday program, "Musings on the Extrasensory," will be held at 7
p.m. and will provide background for attendees prior to the workshop
on Nov. 8, "The Art of ESP, Remote Viewing and Precognitive Dreaming,"
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5 for the
Friday event.

Graff will discuss intuitive and psychic mental potentials that can
provide useful information when people are awake or when they are
asleep and dreaming. He will present examples of those experiences,
sometimes referred to as psi, which include extrasensory perception,
or ESP; remote viewing; and precognitive dreaming about future situations.

His program is based on his personal experiences and his work as
director of Stargate, a governmental remote viewing program.

There is a suggested donation of $20.

For more information, call the Rev. Nancy Clark at 610-944-9990.

George McMullen

George McMullen died last night in the hospital where he had been for some days. His family was with him, and they wish to thank the remote viewing community for their prayers and good wishes. He will be missed.

Looking for Practice Targets?

Lyn Buchanan's Target of the Week continues to grow exponentially.

Daz Smith also has a selection of remote viewing targets available on his website - Remote Viewing Target Monkey

These selections are great for privately monitored viewing for the shy and the voracious viewer who can't get enough target practice.

Happy Viewing,
Shelia

Russell Targ: Course at Rhinebeck Campus

The Limitless Mind
Remote Viewing & the Transformation of Consciousness

September 12, 2008 - September 14, 2008
Rhinebeck Campus: Rhinebeck, NY (US)
Tuition: $285 (does not include accommodations or commuter fee)
Member Tuition: $260
Course: SM08-4502-172

What do the healer, the mystic, the psychic, and the spy all have in common? According to physicist and author Russell Targ, they are all in touch with the nonlocal mind-the ability to transcend time and space. In this workshop, we practice and experience a range of psychic abilities, including extrasensory perception, precognition, intuitive diagnosis, distance healing, and remote viewing. We learn how to recognize actual psychic signals and separate them from the mental noise of memory, imagination, and analysis.

We also explore the real X-files and the spiritual implications of psychic abilities, drawing on the mystical Hindu teachings of Patanjali and the Tibetan dzogchen dharma masters.

Recommended reading: Targ and Houston, Limitless Mind and Targ and Hurtak, The End of Suffering.

A pioneer in the development of the laser and laser applications, Russell Targ was a cofounder of the previously secret investigations into psychic abilities by the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) in the 1970s and 1980s. Supported by the CIA and many other government organizations, SRI scientifically researched a range of psychic skills, particularly remote viewing, the ability to experience and describe distant events unavailable to ordinary perception. He has written extensively on remote viewing, including his book, Limitless Mind. espresearch.com

Coast to Coast interview w/ Paul H. Smith

If you missed Paul H. Smith's interview on Coast to Coast you can access it through Streamlink (free this weekend):

Dowsing & Remote Viewing for Gain

Remote viewing and dowsing expert Paul Smith discussed ESP techniques, and how people can use them to tap into future outcomes for financial gain. With remote viewing, you know where a target is, but you don't what it is-- dowsing is the reverse, where a person knows what the target is, but doesn't know its location, he explained. Both systems make use of the subconscious, but with dowsing the subconscious exerts a subtle ideomotor response.

Associate Remote Viewing (ARV) can be applied to financial decisions-- by bypassing psychological influences, each outcome is associated with an unrelated object. For instance, a certain stock going up in price is represented by a hamburger, and a pencil represents the stock going down. The viewer then describes a visual of the object they see. This technique is successful 70% of the time, Smith stated.

He also discussed how dowsing can be used to pick lottery numbers. Different blocks or cards are set up with a set of corresponding numbers to a lottery, and then a person uses a pendulum over each, determining if it's a yes or a no. Typically, the dowser would use one hand to touch the card, and the other to hold the pendulum. A dowser who practiced his technique won $18,000 in a lottery, Smith reported.

Dr. Harold E. Puthoff February lecture

The Arlington Institute is pleased to announce the fifth lecture in its TAI PRESENTS series related to different aspects of big global change. We are honored that one of the most innovative minds in physics, Dr. Harold Puthoff, will join us on February 1st at 7:00pm for a public presentation on one of the US government’s most highly classified – and interesting – intelligence operations.

In the spring of 1972, Dr. Puthoff was approached by the CIA to set up a program to investigate “ESP” to determine whether there was a credible “psychic spy” threat to the U.S. from a known large-scale effort being pursued in the then Soviet Union. As a result he founded the SRI “remote viewing” program to use intuitives to access intelligence information where no other sources were available. He acted as its Director over the next two decades to both serve a number of clients in the Department of Defense/Intelligence community, and to generate a dense data base for scientific evaluation. Out of this work emerged some of the first papers on the remote viewing subject to be published in both intelligence community journals and in mainstream scientific journals such as Nature and the Proceedings of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). Previously classified files of the work carried out under codeword project names SCANATE, SUN STREAK, CENTER LANE, GRILL FLAME and STAR GATE have recently been released (~90,000 pages) in CD format by the CIA FOIA office and by the National Archives (NARA).

In his multimedia lecture, Dr. Puthoff will discuss the results obtained in the program, and their operational implications and scientific significance.

Twice nominated for the Nobel Prize, Dr. Puthoff is presently Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin. His research interests range from theoretical studies concerning gravitation, cosmology and energy research, to laboratory studies of innovative approaches to energy generation and space propulsion. A graduate of Stanford University, his professional background spans more than four decades of research at General Electric, Sperry, the National Security Agency, Stanford University, and SRI International.

[Ed. Note: Dr. Harold E. Puthoff is one of the founding members of IRVA and continues to advise and make himself available for projects related to remote viewing.]
